 The Books of the Bible. 

إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا أَسْمَاءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ بِهَا مِنْ سُلْطَانٍ

These are nothing but names which you have devised - you and your father - for which God has sent down no authority whatsoever...... (Qur'an An-Najm (53): 23) 

The Books of the Bible are divided by the Christians into two main parts. The Old Testament and the New Testament. The Books of the Old Testament are claimed to have been received through the Prophets who were prior to the Prophet Jesus, the Messiah. The Books of the New Testament are believed to have been written through inspiration after Jesus. All the Books of the Old and New Testament together are called "Bible". 

"Bible" is Greek word which means "Book". Both the Testaments are further sub divided into two parts. The first part of the Old Testament is believed to be authentic by almost all the ancient Christians, while the authenticity of the other parts is held to be doubtful and controversial. 

The first division of the Old Testament. 

The collection comprises of 38 Books. 

1. Genesis 

The Book of Genesis describes the creation of the Earth, skies and gives an historical account of the Prophets Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Joseph. The Book ends with the death of the Prophet Joseph. This is also called the Book of Creation. 

2. Exodus 

Exodus is mainly a description the life of the Prophet Moses. It includes the teachings of Moses, his altercations with Pharaoh, Pharaoh's drowning in the Sea and the oral communication of God with Moses. It ends with the Israelites camping in the desert of Sinai. It's called Exodus because it describes the event of the Israelites' exodus from Egypt. 

3. Leviticus 

Leviticus is a collection of the injunctions and laws given to Israelites during their wanderings in the desert of Sinai. It has 27 chapters.

Kitab-Kitab Alkitab.

Kitab-kitab dalam Alkitab dibagi oleh orang-orang Kristen menjadi dua bagian utama. Perjanjian Lama dan Perjanjian Baru. Kitab-kitab Perjanjian Lama diklaim telah diterima melalui para Nabi sebelum Nabi Isa, sang Mesias. Kitab Perjanjian Baru diyakini telah ditulis melalui ilham setelah Yesus. Semua Kitab Perjanjian Lama dan Baru bersama-sama disebut "Alkitab". 

"Alkitab" adalah kata Yunani yang berarti "Buku". Kedua Perjanjian dibagi lagi menjadi dua bagian. Bagian pertama dari Perjanjian Lama diyakini otentik oleh hampir semua orang Kristen kuno, sementara keaslian bagian lain dianggap meragukan dan kontroversial.

Koleksinya terdiri dari 38 Buku. 

1. Kejadian 

Kitab Kejadian menggambarkan penciptaan bumi, langit dan memberikan catatan sejarah tentang Nabi Adam, Nuh, Abraham, Ishak, dan Yusuf. Buku itu berakhir dengan kematian Nabi Yusuf. Ini juga disebut Kitab Penciptaan. 

2. Keluaran 

"Keluaran" terutama menggambarkan kehidupan Nabi Musa. Itu termasuk ajaran Musa, pertengkarannya dengan Firaun, tenggelamnya Firaun di Laut dan komunikasi lisan Tuhan dengan Musa. Itu berakhir dengan orang Israel berkemah di gurun Sinai. Disebut Exodus karena menggambarkan peristiwa eksodus bangsa Israel dari Mesir. 

3. Imamat 

"Imamat" adalah kumpulan perintah dan hukum yang diberikan kepada orang Israel selama pengembaraan mereka di gurun Sinai. Ini memiliki 27 bab.
